DEBRA MUNSON

Debra Munson graduated from WLHS in 2002.

In her time there, Debra was a three-sport athlete: a varsity starter for 3 years in softball, 3 years in soccer, and 2 years in basketball.

Although Debra was great at all three sports, she excelled in
softball. Debra was named to the All-Conference team for 3 years. She was also named All State 3 years as well!

Debra had 29 career home runs in her time at WLHS.

She went on to play Division 1 softball at CCSU, starting all 4 years and
being named to the All-New England team as 1 st team catcher, and second team all New England honors as well.

Debra went on to be an assistant coach for CCSU for
two years.

Debra moved to Vermont in 2010 where she now lives in St Albans with her wife Jenna and their 3 children; a son August, who is 2.5 years old and their 1-year-old twin daughters Lara and Maya. Rounding out the family is their dog Jethro, 3 cats, and Ferret – the bunny. 

Debra is currently a Captain with the Vermont State Police and serves as the Special Operations Commander. She oversees the 13 Department special teams, the traffic safety unit, and the marine division.

She is the first woman to hold this position and was the first woman to serve as the Commander of the Derby Barracks, to serve on the state’s tactical unit, and to serve as the Commander of both the Members Assistance team and Tactical Unit.
