SCOTT SHAW

When the history of the track and field teams at Windsor Locks High School is written Scott Shaw’s name will included as one of the school’s greatest long-distance runners.

Scott earned 12 letters during his four years at the high school; 4 each in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track.

In his junior year, he was the State Champion in the 3200 meter outdoors. Scott also ran 5000 meters and was a member of the 4 by 800 meter relay team.

He continued his running at Bentley College. There Scott ran 4 years of cross country, 4 years of indoor track, and 3 years of outdoor track. He continued to run 3200 and 5000 meters.

He was part of their successful cross-country team which won their conference title 3 of the 4 years he attended the school.

Scott graduated from Bentley in 1996. The next year, he moved to Arizona. He lived there for 19 years. He put his business degree to work in Arizona. It started with working with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He worked there for 5 years ultimately being promoted to branch manager. His next job was the management of a local pizza restaurant named Mama T’s.

Then in 2016 Scott moved to Georgia to be closer to family. He is now an area manager with one of largest assembly companies in the country.


Scott enjoys traveling, including visiting the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Las Vegas. Rocky Point in Sonora Mexico has been a frequent vacation destination.

On the East coast, visiting Fort Myers for spring training is a must. He enjoys any outdoor activity, camping, hiking, mountain bike riding just to name a few.

When he has time, he likes to read. He enjoys going to the movies, live music events, and sporting events.

Being a Red Sox fan, he enjoys seeing them, and the NFL Commanders, when they play in Georgia.


Windsor Locks High School has had a long tradition of developing fine
runners.

Scott Shaw takes his places among the elite runners on that list.
