Paul Callahan was a true student athlete who not only collected the honors that are awarded for on field performance but was recognized for his equal success in the classroom. 

Paul played varsity soccer for four years earning all-conference honors three of those years and was selected to the All- State team his senior year. 

An efficient goal scorer, Paul scored 14 goals his junior season and 12 as a senior, helping him earn a selection to the 1982 Journal Inquirer All Area Team.

He culminated his high school soccer career by being named Connecticut Soccer Association Scholar Athlete of the year. 

Paul then continued his soccer career at Brown University playing against quality Division 1 competition.

Before leaving WLHS Paul showed his athletic versatility playing varsity basketball and baseball. 

As a point guard on the basketball team, he selflessly got the ball to his teammates, leading the team in assists his junior and senior years.

He was a reliable three-year starter as a pitcher and a shortstop on the baseball team; once collecting 7 assists in one game and tossing a no-hitter for the Locks American Legion team.

Paul presently lives in Acton Massachusetts with his wife Rosemarie and their son Adam who is currently a student at UConn.

Paul received a BS in Material Engineering at Brown University and his M.S. at Northeastern University. Paul now works as a principal Hardware Engineer at Dell Technologies.

He has published several papers in technical journals on metallurgy, soldering, soldering mechanics, and reliability, and is a co-inventor on several patents.

Paul enjoys camping with his friends and family. He has traveled to Germany, Ireland, England, and Japan.

He bikes, golfs in a league, and stays active walking his dog Connor.

He is a member of the Captains Golf Course in Brewster Massachusetts.

Paul’s other interest include reading history, playing poker, and preparing BBQ on his smoker.
